Depart the U.S. on Sunday, August 11th

Day 1, Monday, August 12th: Touch down at the Johannesburg airport, transfer to the domestic terminal for flight to Nelspruit, video filming, then a Kruger National Park evening game drive starting around 4pm.

Day 2, Tuesday, August 13th: 5am-8am morning game drive, lunch, video filming, meet with Small Enterprise Foundation General Manager Zach Raymond

Day 3, Wednesday, August 14th: 6.30am Meet Small Enterprise Foundation in Hazyview (1.5 hour drive north of Nelspruit), learn, meet microcredit clients, visit groups, and video filming

Day 4, Thursday, August 15th: Fly 1.5 hours from Nelspruit to Cape Town at 1:15-3:45pm, Guided Tour focusing on South Africa history and Nelson Mandela

Day 5, Friday, August 16th: Drive to rooibos tea production, check in to Highlander’s Lodge, Stellar Organics wine tasting (Stellar is a WFP donor and runs their own community projects)

Day 6, Saturday, August 17th: Steilhoogte school community service project with at-promise children (300 children attend this school that WFM team members will be supporting in 2020)

Day 7, Sunday, August 18th: Return drive to Cape Town, visit Cape of Good Hope, fly home

Inoculations are recommended for travel to South Africa. You can check the CDC site then visit Walgreens, CVS, Passport Health, or your local travel clinic for your vaccines. There is no risk of yellow fever in South Africa. The government of South Africa requires proof of yellow fever vaccination only if you are arriving from a country with risk of yellow fever. 

NO visa is required for US passport holders to travel to South Africa. If you are traveling with a passport other than US, visit Travisa to determine if a visa is required for this trip.

How and where to purchase travel insurance

Travel forms and waivers. These next steps are REQUIRED and you will not be allowed to travel without doing all the steps:

1) Scan or take a photo of the photo page of your Passport and text or email to me. It should look like this.

2) Now fill out the Whole Planet online form here and have the scan or photos of the Waiver and Passport handy in electronic file form as you will be asked to upload them. The form should take approx 10mins to complete.
